Heatherette Goes Furless For Pammy
by Kevin Yeoh on Thursday, 15th October 2009
We love Pamela Anderson, not for the obvious reasons (of which there are 2) but for what lays underneath – her kind heart. Pammy, already an avowed PETA campaigner and the world’s sexiest vegetarian recently debuted her eco- and animal-friendly clothing collection called A*Muse in September. Collaborating with the fabulous Richie Rich of Heatherette, he calls it “fun, sexy, surfer girl from Malibu meets Andy Warhol.” Wooo! [more »]
Who You Calling A Monkey?
by Ben Liew on Friday, 25th September 2009
What if you were born a monkey? Hey just think about it for a sec, will ya creationists? How much do you really know about our evolutionary cousins? It’s no surprise that nature channels are frequented mostly by science nerds, animal lovers and stoners, but the times are a-changing. Stories of the animal kingdom are now being told through riveting narratives which are often more action-packed and real than most Hollywood Blockbusters. Animal Planet simians are given the Sin City treatment.

Clot Goes Green
by Miranda Yeoh on Wednesday, 19th August 2009
Starting July 2009 Hong Kong started the Plastic Bag Levy Scheme where shoppers will have to bring their own eco friendly bags and if they don’t have their own bags registered retailers will have to charge a fee of US$6 cents for every provided plastic bag with a handle. JUICE thinks this is a novel idea, especially when we Malaysians are guilty of also using a lot of plastic bags. Look at just a single take out meal from a food court. Most of the time, its packed in plastic, then in a Styrofoam box which will then be put in together with a pair of plastic utensils in another plastic bag and what do you get? A Matryoshka type environmental abomination!
Ultra Baggu
by Miranda Yeoh on Sunday, 16th August 2009People tend to think that anything to do with nature or recycling equals bland. That being kind to the environment is about as exciting as cardboard. In comes Ultra, a sustainable design collective that aim to provide people fun, colourful AND planet friendly products. Their official website contains a blog and an online store that will open mid-August, selling the 1stof Ultra’s products, the Baggu bags. Yea, Baggu might sound like the name of a penguin but it’s the name of a bag.

“All we can do is take steps in our personal lives. Fully commit yourself to being aware of everything you do and how convenient the world has become. How many people do you know that grow there own food? How many of your friends recycle everytime they have a drink in a plastic bottle? How…”
